The Piddington Society’s annual Bali Law Conference in Seminyak

Shannon Davies, BNI Bamboo’s resident Commercial Lawyer, recently presented at The Piddington Society’s annual Bali Law Conference in Seminyak, which was attended by over 200 delegates.


As part of a three-speaker panel focusing on interjurisdictional legal issues, Shannon spoke about the importance and impact of foreign capital for Australia’s economic growth. He also summarised the current state of play for Australia’s foreign investment laws, including recent amendments aimed at strengthening rules relating to the acquisition of interests in residential and agricultural land, the introduction of harsher penalties for breaches, and the evolving foreign resident capital gains withholding tax regime.
